Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
In case you would like to make use of the public transport system, the Seefeld-Hechendorf S-Bahn (rapid transit train) station is only 1.5 kilometres (approximately 1 mile) away from us. You will take the train line called S8, which runs from Herrsching via Munich central station to Grafing and vice versa. From our S-Bahn station, you can easily reach us by taxi, bus or on foot. Should you choose to walk, you just have to turn left outside the station entrance, after 200 m (approximately 200 yards) you turn left again and after 800 m (approximately 800 yards) you will reach a set of traffic lights, here you turn right towards Herrsching. The camp site is located on the right-hand side. If you want to go into Munich, it is sensible to use solely public transport. The S-Bahn trains run every 20 minutes, at certain times every 40 minutes to "Marienplatz", "Stachus" or Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof). The companies running the public transport system have a number of interesting offers available to suit your individual preferences. Information on prices can be obtained at the station. If you arrive by plane at Munich airport, you can take the S-Bahn to the camp site. At Munich airport you can get directly to “Seefeld-Hechendorf” only 1,5 km next to the camping-site. 2. Oktoberfest It is advisable for visitors to use solely public transport, because of the complete lack of parking places at this time and because of very strict enforcement of traffic regulations. The Oktoberfest can be easily reached by S-Bahn trains. You have to get off at "Hackerbrücke" station, a few stations away from Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof). "Hackerbrücke" station is on of the stations on the S8 train line. The Oktoberfest grounds are reached after a 10-minute walk. The sheer number of visitors will point you in the right direction. Please take note of the train times, since the S-Bahn trains stop running at a certain time at night until the early morning. Please make a reservation via e-mail during the period of Oktoberfest in any case. Otherwise we cannot guarantee for any available sites. 3. How to make a reservation Please take into consideration that we have a large number of guests, especially in the period of 15th July to 30th August. It is therefore advisable to book early. You find our e-mail address below. In order to make a reservation, you will also need to transfer Euro 50,00 to our bank account number 430151803 at the "Kreissparkasse München Starnberg", sort code (Bankleitzahl) 70250150. Please make sure that the transfer is completed at least one week in advance of your stay. We shall offset Euro 45.00 of this sum against your final invoice. Please make sure to arrive on the camp site before 7 p.m. In case of late arrival, we kindly ask you to notify us in advance by calling 08152 7232. On the day of departure, the camp site fees have to be paid before 12.30 and the camp site also has to be vacated by this time. Please take note that we have to charge you for an extra day in case of late payment. 4. Accommodation We also offer you the possibility of renting a caravan. A tent is extended to the caravan. Inside you will find a kitchen and seating-accommodations. Caused by old age of the caravans we can not advise it for demanding guests. Bed linen, the first gas bottle, electricity, charges for refuse collection and for final cleaning are included in the price. Apart from the basic price, a fee for each person is payable. Again, it is advisable to make your booking early. We do not offer tents or chalets for rent. 5. Pubs, shopping facilities and beach kiosk The camp site boasts a new pub, which has an indoor seating capacity for 70 people and a fantastic beer garden, which seats 100 people directly adjacent to the shore of the lake. On hot days, the chestnut trees and the lake will offer you pleasant shade and a cooling breeze. A variety of plates cater for small and large appetites. In the on-site supermarket, you can buy your daily supplies of fresh bread rolls, sliced sausage, cheese and newspapers and much more. Breakfast is available between 7.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. Whilst swimming and sun-bathing, your every need is also catered for. On the large green, there is a beach kiosk, which sells ice cream, drinks and snacks. Please note, that these three facilities are available from approximately mid-April until the end of September of each year. Outside this period, Schloss Seefeld, which is located directly above the camp site, offers you the services of its historic pub Bräustüberl. This pub is open all year round and offers Bavarian specialities as well as light meals in different price categories. 6. The municipality of Seefeld The municipality with its 6,600 inhabitants is only
800 m (approximately 800 yards) away. There, you will find a post office,
two banks, two chemists, doctors, various shopping facilities as well
as a variety of facilities to cater for any needs you might have. In case
of an emergency, there is even a hospital at your disposal.
